JOB DESCRIPTION – Sushi Chef

Reports to: OWNER

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that all Sushi Counter operations adhere to Company Policies, Procedures, and Standards.
  • To monitor food standards in collaboration with the owner and manager.
  • Ensures proper receiving, storage (including temperature setting), and rotation of food products to comply with health department regulations.
  • As Sushi Chef, you ensure all food is stored in designated areas following food safety and sanitation procedures.
  • You will handle a variety of raw fish and fulfil all orders within our high-quality standards, showcasing your culinary skills and expertise.

Summary:

  • Must reside in or around Stellenbosch or have own transportation.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience as a Sushi Chef.
  • Must be able to work shifts, including public holidays and weekends.
  • Managerial skills will be a bonus.
